Movie Opener Brainstorming and Research

Rise: I like how the end is suspenseful with the guy showing up and the extreme close ups of both characters showed that they clearly know each other. I also enjoyed how the camera showed the soccer played putting down each individual thing on the field.

Dear Lover: I didn't like how shaky the camera was in the opening clips, however,  the clips themselves were calming and set off the mood for the opening. I did like how it kept cutting to her clip of her being interviewed it made it more of a realistic movie.

Dare to Thrill: The music really pulled this entire scene together and all of the car sound effects added just made it more thrilling and I wanted to watch what was next. This one was having me on the edge of my seat because with the blurry camera it emphasizes that they were driving fast.

Always Watching: The therapist or women who was helping the man seemed very concerned and played her character well. The dark lighting and nighttime added the scary feature that was needed. I like how in the mirror they would switch back in forth to the victim and the stalker.

The Blue Boar: Her singing was amazing and I thought it was interesting how she did not show her mothers full face which made it more suspenseful. The viewers can also tell that she is adventurous because she likes to play in the woods and be in the nature. What tied it together at the end is how she drew a boar with her flowers and it faded into the movie symbol of a boar.

White Coat: This movie opening is very realistic and the name matches the science theme very well. I like how they added many chemical fog and bubble and mixing colors and beakers which made him look like an experienced scientist instead of a fake one.

Stalker: The clip where the camera is showing her in the mirror but she turns around and you could see an extreme close up of her face and the expression of curiosity that she make tells a lot about the story. The sound effect of the camera noise really made it more obvious to the viewer of what is going on.

Nostalgia: The opener really showed how the old women is reminiscing about places she has been to and I like how they had a clip of her cut to a clip of a young girl representing that she misses that younger feeling in herself.

Summary- After watching these films I now have an idea of what is most important when creating a film opening. I made notes that having good actors are a key essential after watching "Stalker" and "Always Watching" because it really makes the reader feel more connected to the characters. The background music you choose to pick can also make or break you film and for "Dare to Thrill" and "Rise" it really put that entire film together. Each film also had the title and actors names in it as well as the producers. Since I did choose an action film, sound effects will be necessary just to emphasize the motions. Each film was high quality and original so it raised the expectations I had for my film which is helpful.
